TV tracking, rebuilt — rewatches, Undo on every mark, and a journal of your viewing
New
- Rewatch a show. Finished a show and starting again? Add it to your Playlist or mark its first episode, and it begins a new viewing. Your first time through stays in your journal, the show reads Rewatching, and each episode shows a quiet ✓ (or ✓✓ once you've seen it more than once). Point at a ✓ to see when you last watched it.
- Undo and Edit Log on every mark. Marking an episode, a season or a whole show now shows a toast with Edit Log and Undo, and it tells you when you've hit a milestone — Started, Completed Season 2, Resumed.
- Log a single episode. Every episode has a Log button: rate it, like it, review it or add a private note, and pick when you watched it — Today, Pick a date, Release date or Date unknown.
- Season buttons. Each season offers Mark season watched (or Mark season up to date while it's airing), Skip season or Skip the rest, and Unmark season to clear it. Skipped episodes count toward the progress bar.
- One clear question when you jump in. Start a show in the middle and you're asked once: Have you watched any episodes before S5E3? — None of it, Some of it or All of it. Skip ahead and one prompt asks what happened to the episodes in between. Don't want to be asked? Each show's Gap question settings has Always ask, Only within a season and Never.
- Shows complete themselves. Marking the last episode of a finished show completes it, and the completion window says how many you watched and skipped. If a show ends while you're caught up, it's completed for you and you get a notification inviting you to rate it. If you watched the finale with gaps left, a banner offers to finish it off.
- Back for a new season. When a show you completed gets a new season, it comes back to your Playlist.
- By episode. On a show's journal, switch to By episode to see every episode and each time you watched it.
- Completed ever. A new Library filter finds everything you've ever finished, even titles you're rewatching now.
- A heads-up when there’s something new. After each update, release notes pop up the next time you visit, so you can see what’s changed and try out the latest features.
Improved
- Unwatching an episode keeps your rating and review. Only the watch goes; what you said about it stays.
- Clearer menus. Card menus and a title's own menu offer the same options, with Add to Playlist always first. Remove from Playlist works straight away, and once you've marked something the way out is Shelve. Restart now asks first and starts a fresh viewing.
- Movies are simpler. A movie is in your Playlist or watched — there's no "Watching" for movies any more. Any movie you had in progress or shelved is back in your Playlist, and nothing you logged is lost.
- New words for finishing. A show is marked Completed, a game Finished, a book Completed.
- Dates on the status pill. The pill shows when you started or finished, and the ✓ explains itself when you point at it or tap it.
- Your journal groups batches. Marking a whole season or show shows up as one entry you can edit or delete in one go, and you can delete a single entry or a completion from the journal.
- Helpful hints on every answer. Point at or press and hold any answer in a prompt to see exactly what it will mark.
- On phones, logging opens as a sheet from the bottom of the screen, with Save always in reach.
- Library and Activity tabs switch instantly. Moving between Library and Playlist, or between Following and your own activity, no longer reloads the page. Back and forward still take you between them.
- Your activity is now My Journal. On Activity, the You tab is now My Journal, and on a title's page View activity is now View journal.
- A title's page keeps its colour as you scroll. The artwork scrolls away and the colour it gives the page stays at the top, behind the details.
Fixed
- Marking a later season of a show you hadn't started now asks what you've seen before it, instead of skipping the question.
- Skipped seasons show their episodes as skipped, not unmarked.
- A Showcase poster no longer stays raised after your pointer moves off it.
