The historic mining town of Crestone lies nestled at the foot of Colorado’s Sangre de Cristo (Blood of Christ) Mountains. The
hamlet has long been the gateway for hikes and climbs into the rugged Fourteeners of the Crestone Group. But in the past four decades Crestone has also evolved into a more metaphysical gateway: to religious retreats, monasteries, yoga ashrams, nature-based fine art, ”green” building, and sustainable lifestyles. Crestone resident Jim McCalpin leads you through the physical and metaphysical attractions of the Crestone-Baca area. The magic of Crestone is how it all blends together; earth, sky, mind, rock, water, spirit.
